Recently, I had the honor of watching my play, Funeral for the Cat, be performed in the Maryland Community Theatre Festival Association's (MCTFA) 2024 festival. It's always a joy seeing something you wrote come to life on stage, and even more wonderful to see it in the hands of such an immensely talented cast and crew.
At the conclusion of the festival, my play won several awards:
- Outstanding Production
- Outstanding Emerging Playwright - B.G. Craig
- The Cliff Smith Memorial Award for Excellence in Directing - Vanessa Markowitz
- The Ed-Ro-Char Award for Technical Excellence
- The Sandra K. Doherty Stage Manager’s Award - Aaron Skolnik
- Outstanding Performance - Emily Ray
- Outstanding Performance - Charlotte Richesson
- Outstanding Props - Nancy Carlin
This was a fantastic surprise, and I'm so honored to be recognized besides all the talented, hardworking, and lovely folks who made this play happen. I remain floored and overjoyed.
